*Congratulations to the MHS girls cross country teams for their outstanding performances at the WIAA Division I Sectional on Saturday.  The girls finished 2nd of 13 teams, qualifying for the state meet this coming Saturday.  All five Menomonie scorers finished in the top 20 with Lexi Thalacker in 19th, Carmen Schrantz in 16th, Lauren Ohman 13th, Addison Schuler 10th and Veronica Molback in 7th.  Special congratulations to Bella Drake who is now just the 2nd girl in MHS history to qualify for state four years in a row.

*This past Thursday Night the girls swim and dive team competed in their final dual meet against the Hudson Raiders.  Ofelia Prechel came out on top with a first place finish in the diving event, while Ellie Zydowsky brought home first place in both the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle.  The biggest improvement of the night came from Elli Evans, dropping the most time in both her 200 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle.  Layla Soviak became the last athlete of the season to successfully compete in all 9 individual events, including 6 and 11 dive meets!

The team goes on the road next Friday and Saturday for their Big Rivers Conference meet!  Good luck ladies!

*Congratulations to the boys cross country team for winning their second consecutive sectional championship on Saturday. This is the third year in a row they have qualified for the State Championship meet. They were led by four top 15 finishes from Owen Pelzel, Logan Topper, Evan Olson and Karter Livingston and got a huge race from Oliver Kerze to round out our scoring five. Noah Winder and Brody Salzman also had good races to finish in the top 35 of the 83 runner field. The boys will compete in the Division 1 state championship race this coming Saturday at 3:10 PM in Wisconsin Rapids! Best of luck boys!

*Do you enjoy writing short stories in English class? Do you have a few pages of a story already started somewhere in your Google Drive? Or maybe you have an idea for an amazing book bouncing around in your brain? If so- join MHS Creative Writing Club on Wednesday, October 28 for a kick off to National Novel Writing Month! We'll meet in Room 252 in the English hallway- see Mrs. Tempus for more details.

*Students--This is just a reminder that you should be leaving your study hall locations for academic purposes only.  We want to continue to prioritize the study hall period to complete assignments, retake assessments, and receive academic assistance from staff.  Thank you

*Students--We have seen an increase in trays, food, and garbage being left on the tables in the Commons during breakfast and lunch.  Please make sure to properly take care of your breakfast and lunch when you are done.  Staff should not have to clean up after you.  Thank you

*Esports Club will be having competitions tonight from 3:15 to 4:45pm in Mr. Daniel's room, room 189.  All are welcome to attend.

*Juniors and seniors, are you looking to bring downtown Menomonie new perspectives and gain hands-on civic leadership experience? Downtown Menomonie Board of Directors is looking for a motivated junior or senior to fill their youth liaison board seat. If you are interested in this opportunity, please send an email or come talk to Ms. Knapp.

*Students, have you ever wondered what student life is like at UW-River Falls? Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 27th, an admissions rep from UW-River Falls will be here in the Lecture Hall during study hall to talk about student life on campus, and any other questions you might have. Join us tomorrow!
