Dear SDMA Families and Staff,
Greetings from the School District of the Menomonie Area (SDMA)!
The 2022-2023 school year begins this week. After welcoming back the faculty and staff for a few days of inservice, everyone in the school district is now looking forward to the return of students. K-8 Meet & Greet and MHS's Freshmen First Day will be held on Wednesday, August 31, and the first official day of classes (and bus routes) will be held on Thursday, September 1.
Along with the SDMA Back to School Newsletter and any building-level communications that were shared with families earlier this month, here are some additional resource links that might be helpful in getting ready for the start of the school year:
One of the district's goals for this year is to ensure that each and every student has at least one adult in the school district that they trust- someone they feel comfortable to go to with questions, concerns, or problems. Building good relationships is critical for maximizing student success and for keeping everyone in our schools safe. Families are encouraged to check-in with their child(ren) during the first few weeks of the school year, and if your child is not able to name at least one adult that they trust, please contact the classroom teacher, school counselor, building principal, or me, so we can work together to address the situation in an efficient and effective manner.
It is going to be a great year in the SDMA!
Yours truly,
Joe Zydowsky
