Dear SDMA Families & Staff,
The weather forecast for today includes the possibility of storms, some of which could be severe. The school district has protocols that will be followed to help ensure that students and staff find a safe place to take shelter if severe weather occurs during the school day.
School officials have also been in communication with Menomonie Transportation about bus protocols in the event of severe weather. If a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning is issued, students who ride the bus may need to be kept at school until it is deemed safe to transport home. School officials will be in communication with Menomonie Transportation so a determination can be made if there are any storms in the path of the bus routes and when it is safe to release children from the building to board the buses and be transported home. Communications will be sent to families as soon as possible if buses are delayed.
Hopefully today's weather will be on the mild end of the forecast, but the school district and bus company are preparing to do what we can to help keep everyone safe. The health and safety of students and staff are our top priority! For more information, please refer to the latest communication from the National Weather Service.
Thank you and be safe!
Joe Zydowsky
