Menomonie Middle School Announcements 

Boys Swim:  Congratulations to the swim team on their 1st meet last night.  It was a great effort by all swimmers!

MathCounts:  Our MathCounts team participated in their regional competition yesterday and we had some wins:  Logan Topper scored third as an individual and the team of Logan Topper, Oliver Kerze, Bennett Jaeger, and ell Weinberger got fourth of 15 teams and will be advancing to State next month!  Congratulations!

Lost and Found:  Check the lost and found table by the office and the gyms.  Any items left will be removed from the building after school today.

Yearbooks:  Get your yearbook orders in by February 23rd to get the low price of $25.  Order online at jostens.com.  You can only purchase the yearbook online.  There are no in person sales.  If you have any questions feel free to ask Mrs. Forster in the 6th grade blue pod or Ms. H in the 8th grade maroon pod.

February is Black History Month:  Every February, the U.S. honors the contributions and sacrifices of African Americans who have helped shape the nation.  Black History Month celebrate the rich cultural heritage, triumphs and adversities that are in indelible part of our country's history.  Throughout the month of February, MMS will recognize just a few African Americans who have influenced this country.

Quinton Byfield, 18, became the highest drafted Black hockey player in NHL history. He was picked No. 2 overall by the Los Angeles Kings, and in addition to the bright future that experts predict for him on the ice, he also wants to get involved in NHL's diversity initiatives to recruit more players like him.
