Menomonie Middle School Announcements 

Referendum Informational Meeting:  SDMA residents will be asked to vote on a school referendum on February 20, 2024.  Information about the referendum is posted on the school district website.  Dr. Zydowsky will be hosting an informational meeting at the Middle School beginning at 6:00pm tonight (January 11).  All parents, staff and community members are welcome to attend.

Rubber Chicken Contest:  Congratulations to our successful Rubber Chicken throwers.

Staff who tossed hard enough to hit the rim or the backboard were: Mr. Simpson, Mr. Lemke, Mr. Chumas, Mr. Rottier, Mr. Bautch, Mr. Stokke.

Staff who made the 1/2 court shot were: Mr. Nolte and Mrs. Richmond.

Thanks for all your athleticism and creativity.

Prizes will be delivered today to both students and staff.

Chess Club:  If you like to play chess or you just want to learn to plays chess, Chess Club players from Menomonie HS invite you to join them in the middle school library after school on Tuesday, January 16 from 3:00 - 4:00pm.  All are welcome.  No chess experience is necessary.

Multi-Cultural Club:  The next MCC meeting will be on Tuesday, January 16 after school in Ms. McCabe's room, 412.  We will end at 4pm so please arrange your ride.  MCC Officers ? please check in with Mrs. Bade in room 418 during CARES on Monday, January 15 to plan our meeting.  See you then!

Wrestling:  We will not be having MMS Wrestling practice today.  We are asking that all MMS Wrestlers attend the Varsity Duals in the MHS Gym to support the High School Team and learn more about the sport.  This will be a great opportunity to gain wrestling knowledge and see the next level of competition for our MS Wrestlers, as they too will be part of that team in the very near future.  That said, parents/guardians are encouraged to attend with their wrestlers, as we are asking to you to get your wrestlers to MHS for the Varsity Duals.  Wrestling starts at 4pm.  We will be looking for all of our MS Wrestlers at MHS today, see you there!!

Additionally, there is NO scheduled Practice on Friday of this week.

The MMS Wrestling Parent/Guardians meeting will be held at MMS on Wednesday, January 17 at 5:10pm in the MMS Commons, immediately following our MMS Wrestling practice. Please make sure that at least 1 parent or guardian attends this meeting.

8th Grade Families: Thank you for attending the MHS Mustang Preview Night on Tuesday.  Your student will be selecting courses at MMS for next year on Friday. Please reach out to your student's counselor with any questions.

For those families interested in the Chippewa Valley Technical College Business Management Associate's Degree program through MHS, Menomonie High School will host an informational meeting on 1/17/24 starting at 5:30 pm in the Tiered Lecture Hall.  Please see the attachment for further information.

EL ACCESS Testing - EL students, if you have been absent this week, please report to Mrs. Bade's room, 418 1^st hour today for make up EL ACCESS testing.  Thank you!

If you have a speaking test today, report to Mrs. Bade's room 418:  8^th graders - 2^nd hour, 7^th graders - 4^th hour, 6^th graders - 5^th hour.
