Menomonie Middle School Announcements –

Crochet Club:  Are you looking for something to do before school or looking to learn a new skill?  Join crochet club!  Crochet is a skill that uses yarn to create things like hats, scarves, or whatever you want.  No experience necessary!  Crochet club meets in the band room before school at 7:15am on Mondays and Wednesdays starting this coming Monday.

Self-Care Club:  The Bridge to hope will be running a self-care club starting September 12th during WIN in room 740.  All are welcome.  Come have snacks, learn fun ways to manage stress, build self-esteem, play games and make new friends!  If you are interested in signing up, please visit your grade level counselor for a sign-up form!

Menomonie Transportation Message:  GET PAID TO WATCH!  Do you have students that participate in extra-curricular activities?  Why not get paid to watch their event?  Menomonie Transportation is in need of extra-curricular drivers.  Drivers are paid from the time they leave the garage until the time they return.  Please contact Menomonie Transportation (715-235-4995) if this piques your interest!

Student Council:  The first Student Council meeting will be on Thursday, September 14th at 7am in the library.  Anyone interested in joining can attend.

Menomonie’s Got Talent:  Open Call!  Do you think you have what it takes?  Audition now!  Anyone is welcome to submit a video audition.  Anything from singing, dancing, playing an instrument, or performing a unique act.  Make sure to record the video in good lighting and with clear audio.  Submit your video to apayne@cvclubs by September 11.  Videos up to a maximum of 3 minutes.  The chosen ten finalists will be invited to perform at the Mabel Tainter in Menomonie on the evening of Thursday, October 5 for a chance at cash prizes!  Questions?  Call (715) 379-5872 or email [email protected].

YEP:  The Youth Empowerment (YEP) is a middle school group that will meet weekly after school on Tuesdays in the health room from 3 – 4:30 starting September 19th.  The goal of the group is to provide middle school students with drug prevention programming and opportunities to learn new skills like leadership and public speaking while making a positive impact in their communities.  We provide an opportunity for them to have an after-school snack, make new friends, and spend time with old one in a fund and positive environment.  YEP members have participated in activities like creating flyers and informative videos, practicing skits to perform for elementary audiences, and enjoyed group trips to Action City and the bowling alley.  Where the group goes next depends on suggestions from our members.
