Parent/Teacher Conferences:  Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, February 7 and Thursday, February 16 from 4:00pm – 7:30pm.  If you do not have a conference time, please contact your student’s CARES teacher to arrange a time.

 

CORE Leaders:  8th Grade CORE leaders we will have a meeting during CARES next week Tuesday in the cafeteria.

 

MathCounts:  Congratulations to the MathCounts Regional team who represented MMS really well yesterday.  Logan Topper placed 9th, while Aiden Anderson placed 5th overall.  Our team of Aiden Anderson, Oliver Lugo, Logan topper and Max Jaeger placed 5th.  Give a special congratulations to our 5 individuals moving on to state:  Aiden Anderson, Logan Topper, Allison Xu, Sydney Norby, and Noah Winder.  We’ll practice as usual with our state bound participants next Wednesday.

 

Lost and Found:  Please check out the lost and found this week for any of your missing items.  Anything remaining after school TODAY will be removed from the building.

 

Black History Month:  Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history.   MMS will be spotlighting people over the month of February who have influenced music, entertainment, education, sports, politics, science and more!

 

Quinton Byfield, 18, became the highest drafted Black hockey player in NHL history. He was picked No. 2 overall by the Los Angeles Kings, and in addition to the bright future that experts predict for him on the ice, he also wants to get involved in NHL’s diversity initiatives to recruit more players like him.
