Holiday Game Night:  If will be fun, there will be hot chocolate, and it’s an hour to spend with friends before holiday break. It’s ugly sweater day.  What is it?  It’s the Student Council sponsored Holiday Game Night on Tuesday, December 21^st from 3:10 until 4:15.  This event is open to all middle school students.  Get your friends together and join in the fun.  There will be many activities – board games, Holiday booklets, Holiday Coloring and Holiday Minute-to-Minute games.  Don’t forget the hot chocolate with a candy cane.  The cost to attend is $2.00.  Tickets will be on sale during lunches this Thursday and Friday.  They will also be available on the day of the event. 

Don’t forget Holiday Spirit Days start this Thursday.  Thursday is comfy day and Friday is flannel day.

7^th Grade Boys Basketball:  Your 7^th grade BBB competed in 4 exciting games last night against EC South.  The final results ended in a split with Menomonie and South each winning 2 games.  Reminder that there is no practice tonight.

FFA:  We have a meeting this Thursday, Dec. 16^th until 4pm in Mrs. Forster’s room in the blue pod. We will get our FFA shirts if you ordered one and talk about upcoming January events.

8^th Grade Boys Basketball:  8^th grade BBB Games vs. South Middle School. Team 1:  Beat South Team 1 with a final score of 48 - 39.  Leading scorers were Kenny Bauer with 17 points and Charlie Mikesell with 11 points.

Team 2:  Beat South Team 2 with a final score of 50 - 28.  Leading scorers were Max Erickson with 20 points and Renner Stoll with 26 points.

Team 3:  Beat south Team 3 by a close margin of 41 - 40.  Leading scorers were Max Branch with 16 points and Taylor Mars with 10 points.

Reminder that there will be no practice today or Thursday.  

There will be practice tomorrow.

6^th, 7^th & 8^th hour PE Students:  Students who have PE 6^th, 7^th or 8^th hour please meet in the following locations:

Mr. Stokke’s class meets in the multipurpose room for weight lifting.

Mr. Bielmeier and Ms. Hoenisch’s class meet in the lunch room.

This is only for 6^th, 7^th & 8^th hours!

Yearbook:  We will meet Monday, December 20^th until 4pm in Mrs. Forster’s room in the blue pod.  We will start assigning yearbook pages.

Staff:  Please send Kathy or Amanda any pictures of events the students have participated in – classroom activities, extracurricular activities, sports, or any pictures you would like to see in the yearbook. Thanks!

Menomonie Maroon finished 1st in their division and 10th overall (out of 118 teams.)

Multicultural Club:  Our Christmas and Winter Festival Party will be Thursday, Dec. 16^th after school in Mrs. Lemanski’s room until 4:15pm.  Bring 5 prewrapped treats to share and a $5 gift for the gift exchange.  We will have a pinata and learn about winter festivals around the world.

EL Testing:  EL students in 6^th & 8^th grade will be ACCESS testing with Mrs. Bade today in room 418 during your EL English class.

Holiday Dress Up Week:  We will have a holiday dress up week beginning Thursday this week through Wednesday, December 22^nd.  Please remember:  all school rules apply!

Thursday, Dec. 16:  Comfy – Pajama Day

Friday, Dec. 17:  Flannel Day

Monday, Dec. 20:  Twin Day – Dress up as someone else

Tuesday, Dec. 21:  Ugly Sweater Day

Wednesday, Dec. 22:  Santa’s Workshop Day – trees, elves, reindeer, presents, candy canes, etc.

Core Value Poster Contest:  Core value poster entries are due to the front office by next Wednesday, December 15^th.  Every year we get so many awesome designs, and it would be great if that happened again this year.  Put your design on a regular 8 ½ X 11 piece of paper and turn it in to the office.  Be sure all 6 core values are featured in your creative design.

Battle of the Books:  If you are interested in participating in the Battle of the Books, you can sign up in the library.  Our first meeting is Monday, December 20^th during your lunch, but come sign up and get a head start on reading.  Ask Ms. Kim in the library for more details.

Reminders:  We continue to emphasize hand washing, physical distancing and respiratory etiquette.  A friendly reminder to all students to continue to hand wash or use sanitizer in the lunch lines.  We have sanitizing stations located throughout the building in pods, entry ways, lunch lines and in classrooms.  Please stay home if you are sick or if you or a family member are waiting on a Covid-19 test result.
