Reminder to Parents:  Parent/Teacher conferences are tonight from 4:00 pm – 7:45 pm and Tuesday, February 20th from 4:00 pm – 7:45 pm.  If you do not have a scheduled time yet, please contact your students CARES teacher to line up a conference time.

FCCLA Snack Bar:  Don’t forget to stop by the FCCLA Snack Bar at conferences Thursday & Tuesday night!  Help support our FCCLA Regional & State students!

Yearbook:  February 23rd is the last day to purchase a yearbook!  Note that students do not have school on the 22nd or 23rd.  All orders are preferred to be purchased online at jostensyearbooks.com.  Order forms will be available during parent/teacher conferences, if you are unable to order online.  Purchase price is $25.  There may not be any extra yearbooks available in May so please pre-purchase your copy now!  8th graders, this is your last opportunity to remember your middle school years, don’t forget to purchase a yearbook by February 23rd.

Celebrate Black History Month:  Thurgood Marshall was the first African-American ever appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court.  He was appointed by President Lyndon B. Johnson, and served on the court from 1967 to 1991.  Marshall studied law at Howard University.  As counsel to the NAACP, he utilized the judiciary to champion equality for African Americans.  In 1954, he won the Brown v. Board of education case, in which the Supreme Court ended racial segregation in public schools.

Student Council:  We will be selling yummy lips lollipops at lunch on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  .50 per lollipop, limit of 6 per day.  Money raised goes to Boys and Girls Club and Stepping Stones.

Book Fair:  The Scholastic Book Fair will be open from Tuesday, February 13th to Wednesday, February 21st.  You can visit the book fair before/after school, during lunch and at parent/teacher conferences.

SAGA:  There is a meeting for the SAGA club on Thursday.  The meeting is during lunch in Mr. Collins’ room.
