Extended Days in the SDMA

Extended Days in the SDMA
Posted on 02/27/2019

Hello SDMA Families and Staff.

Due to the additional school cancellation and late start this week, we will be making another modification to the daily schedules in the School District of the Menomonie Area to ensure that students receive the amount of school instruction required by state law.

Starting on Monday, March 4, 2019, the daily schedules at Menomonie Middle School and Menomonie High School will be lengthened by five minutes for the rest of the school year. Classes at the middle school will be dismissing at 3:05 pm, while classes at the high school will be dismissing at 3:15 pm. At this point, there will be no schedule changes required at the elementary level.

Changes to the timing of afternoon bus routes are expected to minimal, but there might be a very slight delay noticed with the afternoon buses arriving at Knapp and Downsville Elementary Schools.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to be proactive in trying to work through this unprecedented month of winter weather. Adding instructional time now should provide us with enough flexibility to end the school year for students on Friday, June 7, even if we run into a couple more days of inclement weather this spring.

Sincerely,

Joe Zydowsky
