My Role at SDMA
As a School Social Worker, I provide support and services to K-12 students and families throughout the school district. I am involved in special education evaluations for students identified as potentially having an emotional behavioral disability. I partner with students and families to ensure their basic needs are being met which in turn supports academic and social success for students.
Community engagement and connecting individuals to needed resources is my passion. I work hard to bridge the gap between individual and family needs, educational responsibilities and community resources. I help maintain an online resource directory for Dunn County, located at http://dunncounty.wix.com/resourceguide.

My Background
After graduating from UW-Stout with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, I continued my education at UW-Madison where I earned a Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in children and families, and school social work. I have an array of experience ranging from alcohol and other drug abuse prevention, community engagement and collaboration, volunteer recruitment, child development, human services and child protection, crisis intervention, and a year of AmeriCorps service. I am currently continuing my education to become dually certified in the mental health field as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

My Qualifications
* Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker with the Wisconsin Department of Safety & Professional
   Services.
* Licensed School Social Worker with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
